2015 #2 OVERALL PICK BREGMAN PROMOTED TO LANCASTER

lancasterjethawksnewSS Alex Bregman, the #2 overall pick in this year’s First-Year Player Draft was promoted to Lancaster today and entered the game against Rancho Cucamonga in the 7th inning. Bregman, from LSU, played 29 games at loA Quad Cities, batting .259/.368/.330.

Along with Bregman, the Astros promoted OF Sean McMullen, who belted his first hiA homer in the second inning tonight. McMullen was also drafted out of LSU in 2014.

Moving up from the Lancaster to AA Corpus Christi is RHP Edison Frias, who went 8-4 with the Jethawks in 18 outings, 14 of them starts.

PITCHER/PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rancho Cucamonga’s Chase DeJong was named Cal League Pitcher of the Week for throwing five shutout innings with no walks and 9 K’s.

Lewis Brinson of High Desert was named Offensive Player of the Week after hitting at a .520/.567/.920 clip, including a homer and 5 RBIs.
